What does the fox say?

This year I went to Target first on Thanksgiving night. It was just starting to get really cold and we were all really ancy to get in the store with 20 minutes still to go.
When suddenly a truck pulled up and the fox song started playing really loudly.
I turned around to look at it and the truck had all the doors open and no one to be seen.
Then suddenly people came from everywhere and started singing and dancing.
My first flash mob!
It was so funny! And so needed. It helped all of us get through the rest of the time.

Letters to Santa

As usual we did our letters to Santa on Thanksgiving.
We were going to Doug's parents this year so we did it in the morning.

We had a great time at his parents house and then I went shopping while Doug got the girls in bed.
The next morning they found coloring packs in the magic mailbox.

Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving was really low key this year.
As usual it was just our little family in our day full of traditions.
First, we have our annual sausage muffins and start watching the parade.
Then I go to the gas station and get a newspaper and a mountain dew so that I can prepare for my shopping!
Then I spend the next few hours looking through all the ads while dinner is cooking and we watch the parade and Christmas movies. I love it.
Maddy spent the morning playing with her new stick puzzles. I love it when she actually sits and plays with something like that.
In the afternoon we sat down for our dinner. We had all the usual things but this year we ate them off of paper plates.

After dinner the girls had baths and then we wrote our letters to Santa.

All ready to be put into the magic mailbox.
They couldn't wait to check the magic mailbox the next morning.
They both got books. I don't know why Abi is holding glue but she thought it was funny.

Thanksgiving Day

The holiday weekend was busy and a lot of fun.
Abi spent a lot of time playing her Jumpstart game on the computer because she just doesn't have much time for it since starting school. I thought it was really cute when I looked over and saw them all enjoying it together.
Maddy really enjoys the tree... too much. It is driving me nuts. Abi never touched it when she was that age so I am just not used to the little one taking all the ornaments off a million times a day.
Turkey Time!
We had a simple feast. I also go easy with the turkey and buy the ready made one that goes straight from the freezer to the oven. We also had mashed potatoes, green beans, rolls, and sweet potato casserole.
The girls loved it.
Maddy actually ate! It was a miracle. :)
After dinner there was some more computer time... on a train.
Then the girls wrote their letters to Santa.
Abi's...
Maddy's I had to help out with a bit. I wrote the words and drew the squiggles.
Then they placed them in the magic mailbox...

At that point we ended the night by reading some Thanksgiving books and having some yummy apple pie. Then the girls went to bed and I went shopping.
I got home around 5am.
I made some yummy breakfast and then the girls saw that Elvin and Peppermint were sitting next to the mailbox so they got to open it up to see what they left behind when they took the letters.
Maddy got a little Christmas barbie...
Abi got a little Christmas Polly Pocket.

Doug worked a little on the garage and basement today but as soon as he was done I went back out to finish my shopping.
While out I got Maddy her ornament for this year since she was the only one who didn't have one yet. She watched this cartoon once with a penguin called Pingu and now whenever she sees a penguin she gets excited and says Pingu! So, I found this cute little penguin for her....
It was an exhausting but great two days!
