After the pumpkin princess pageant we grabbed a quick lunch and then drove up to Park City to meet Doug's family. His parents get some condos up there every year for a week and we all take turns staying in them (this was my first time doing it however) but Saturday most of us got together for dinner.
The girls and their adorable little cousin Lizzie
We went to a cool little pizza place for dinner.
The newlyweds, Mischael and Wendy,,,
At first it appears Abi is not in this picture... but she is. Over in the right corner you can see her hiding behind my big purse.
Playing with Lizzie again...
Our room had a big King sized bed for Doug and I and a hideaway couch that was queen sized for the girls. His parents had another room on the other side and in between we had a huge family room with fireplace and kitchen.
Sunday we played and relaxed in the room most of the day but then went out to explore a little. It had been years since I had hung out in Park City.
Abi flagging down the trolley...
The trolley was free so we rode around on it a few times.
I took a few pictures of the condos we were staying in and the shoe tree... more on that later...
That's the building we were in...
I was really excited to go to Cows again since it is the only location outside of Canada. My mom and I loved going to Cows on Prince Edward Island.
They still had the cow theme but it's not a Cows anymore. That was disappointing. I guess I just need to go to PEI again.
So, the shoe tree. I kept wondering about it and finally asked some people. They said when Park City was a mining town the miners would throw their shoes into the trees when they left in the hopes that they would come back again.
So people still carry on that tradition and the local Christian church come by about once a month and gathers the good one. We didn't have any we wanted to get rid of but next time...
Abi and I went on a walk in the rain. It is just so beautiful here.
Then we went back to our room for a nap (well, for Doug) and I took a bunch of pictures of the girls. They went from cute pictures to them shaking their heads like crazy while I took it to see how it would turn out.
