Imaginary Friends

Abi has been on quite a kick the last few months of having imaginary friends/creatures. A few months ago it was the Easter bunny. She would talk about it, show me where it was, and feed it things.
Then it became a crocodile. Poor Alisse would come over for school and Abi would ask her if she wanted to pet the crocodiles. Alisse would say "Where?" and Abi would then show her the croc family living under the coffee table while Alisse looked at her like she had lost it.
So, we've gone through many, many of these friends lately. Her newest one is Abigail. Yes, she has an imaginary friend that is exactly like her with the same name. Today she fell asleep for a nap (shocking!) and the first thing she asked me when she woke up was if Abi was locked in her room upstairs and she ran up to check.

Alissa thinks there are two of her...the happy Alissa and the grumpy Alissa. Yes I may have contributed to this, when I ask her "where did my happy Alissa go?" when she is being grumpy. We decided this might not be healthy behavior, in case she ends up with multiple personality disorder, so we stopped doing it. Maybe Abby is experimenting with some of her own multiple personalities? Shes hit that age!

I love it! Alyssa had lots of imaginary friends. I miss them.

She had a pet dog and she cried hysterically when she left the door open and she ran away. I tried to tell her she was behind the couch and she looked at me like I was the crazy one. She told me to stop pretending. Too funny! I was afraid that she might really be able to see her though. She ougrew it!

I like that Abi has created a double of herself for a friend though. I guess that just means it is perfect timing for a new baby to play with.

Cheryl do you not remember the infamous "Jessica". Courtney would "become" Jessica whenever I fixed her hair in the morning. As we would sit there brushing she would tell me stories about Jessica, and when it hurt she would cry a little and tell me that Jessica was "older" than her and could handle it better than she could. I was a little weirded out....but Jessica left a long time ago, and she hasn't come back so I think we're good! Abi is fine! Someday you'll really be able to laugh about it!

Donna

John doesn't do this (yet). I think it shows that she has a very good imagination, and she's certainly creative!

The Royals

Alex had Biggy. I do not know where he got that name! And Matthew had Jack. I liked the name Jack before he was born, but it doesn't really go with our last name.
