Back to my sisters house...

I'm not sure why it keeps putting my pictures on out of order.. but I don't feel like fixing them. So, after Sun Valley we went back to my sisters house. Then Sunday we went down to my parents house for family pictures. Right after we went to Doug's parents house to hang out with everyone before Jake and Melinda and Doug left.
Abi enjoyed some story time with Grammy...

This was music fun with my brother Brent at my parents house earlier that day. Brent was playing the flip flops while Abi played the piano.
On Tuesday Abi went to 'dinosaur day' at kids camp and was so excited to get a bag of play dinos.

Wednesday Steph and I and the girls went to the park for a picnic. Afterward Courtney and Abi played on the toys for a while. It was so much fun!

Yesterday Kid's Camp was 'water day'. Abi was loving playing in the water. She started out the morning in her normal swimsuit....

but when she came in to go potty she decided it wasn't fitting her too good anymore. We had two new hand me downs from Courtney but one was too big. The other was a tankini back when Courtney wore it at Abi's age but on Abi it was a full fledged bikini. I wasn't sure I wanted her to wear that but she loved it and wanted to get back out there so I let it slide..

This goes back to the picnic... Court putting Abi in the swing..

Mckenna was sitting in this chair and as soon as she got up Abi jumped in it.

Today we went downtown for my mom as she ran the Deseret News marathon. The kids played in the back of Dan's truck while we waited for her to come by..

Logan ran with mom as she passed..

Afterward we all went to lunch at Red Robin.

Abi loves her McKenna!

So, now Doug is back home and Abi and I are back at my parents house for an extended vacation. They will be bringing us back after an amazing road trip so we'll be out here for quite a while.

Sun Valley

Every year Doug's dad gets to go to Sun Valley for the Utah Bar Association and so his family goes along for a little reunion. The last time we were able to be in Utah for it was when I was pregnant with Abi so we were really excited to go this year (funny how I've been pregnant both times though!) This year every one ended up getting there late so we had the entire 3 bedroom condo to ourselves from Wednesday afternoon to Thursday night late.
It was such a nice place. Abi loved it.

We took up a bunch of the food and since we had some dry ice in one of the coolers Doug did some experiment with Abi the first night we were there.
After that we went over to the free dinner (it was amazing!) and the free ice skating.

Abi was so excited to go ice skating.. as if you can't tell!

The next morning we went over to the pond to see the swans. They have babies right now so they are even more aggressive than usual. Abi liked watching this one repeatedly attack that kid's shoe.

We rented Abi a little bike so we could walk around the grounds and the shops while she rode next to us.

another pond with swans..

After a little rest back at our room we went to a nearby pond (not the swan ones- a bigger one) and went paddle boating. That was fun and a lot harder work than we thought it would be!

a couple pics out of order again.... this is at the sun valley shops.

back on the paddle boat...

Abi and Doug called this the space ship and every time we passed it they had to get in and countdown from 10 to blastoff. Abi would shake around and make a blast off noise and then name whatever planet we got out on.

Friday when we finally had family there we went to a nearby skiing area to go hiking.

Abi making silly faces with her hat..

While on the hike Abi decided she wanted to live in a tree so we were looking for one to live in. The one we found had too many bugs so we decided to pretend we were living in one instead.

We found a little park in town and took Abi there to play for a while.

That afternoon while Doug napped Abi and I went to the deli to get drinks and the candy shop to get candy and took a little rest on a little island . It was so fun. You can see the swans behind her to the left.

That night we went with the whole family to the free Ice Cream Social. Abi loved it.

The last day Abi just played with her cousin Kassandra and then we left pretty early. It was a really fun vacation.

Some time with cousins

On Sunday after the reunion we went up to stay at my sister's house for a few days. Abi loved hanging out with her cousins McKenna and Courtney and playing dress up.

The first night she and Courtney had some popcorn and watched Cinderella in their movie theater room which she thought was amazing.

That Monday we all went to the movie theater to see Ice Age 2 which was okay but kind of dumb.

Then we went to Red Robin for lunch.

Abi thought she was so funny when she put on Courtney's American Girl goggles.

We also went swimming with them. Abi went in with McKenna and this was the first time she really enjoyed swimming in a pool.

On Tuesday she got to go to 'Kids Camp' that Mckenna does twice a week. It was an 'Unbirthday day'. They did a pinata and had cupcakes and lots of games.

Abi with her stash...

That night we met some of Dougs brothers and sisters for dinner at Training Table and to play Rock Band. That was so much fun and Abi enjoyed getting to try it too.

Tripping to Utah

We left for Utah on the 8th of July. We were so thrilled to be coming out here and had a really great flight- important since I hate flying. My parents picked us up from the airport and we stayed at their house for a few days.
On Saturday we went up to Midway for a Johnson family reunion (Doug's side of the family). It was held at two different houses within walking distance of one another. There were a lot of fun things going on but we were all exhausted after such a long day out in the sun. It began with breakfast.. Abi loved her parfait and had to sit on top of the swing set to eat it.

Swinging with daddy
There were some really fun games. One of them had both people blindfolded while the one tried to feed ice cream to the other. Here are Jake and Mark attempting this. It was hilarious.

This picture is out of order (oops) On Friday - the day before the reunion I visited my grandma with my parents. Abi loves playing on people's pianos and was enjoying doing some elbow playing there.

Okay, back to the reunion. Here she was attempting badminton.

One of Doug's cousins brought their horses for everyone to ride. Here Doug was helping Abi to get to know them a bit.

Hanging out with Grammy getting ready to go on "parade" to the next house.

Abi really wanted to ride the horses. She didn't want to get off!

The rest of the time she pretty much played on the playground and the trampoline. Doug and Aunt Wendy were such good sports playing "Follow the Leader" on the tramp with her.
